FUE Hair Transplant Care Instructions
Your journey to fuller hair doesn’t end in the treatment room. Proper care before and after your FUE procedure plays a vital role in ensuring optimal results. Here’s everything you need to know:
Before Your FUE Procedure
- Scalp Preparation: Please wash your hair thoroughly before the procedure. Do not apply any external solutions, hair gel, or styling products.
- Medication Precaution: Stop taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medications at least 7 days before the procedure.
- Alcohol & Smoking: Avoid alcohol at least 3 days before the procedure, and stop smoking at least 1 day before.
- Medical Conditions: If you have heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure, please inform your doctor and share details of any medications you’re currently taking.
- Bring a Cap: Please bring a loose-fitting, adjustable cap to wear after the procedure — avoid tight or rigid headwear.
After Your FUE Procedure
- First Follow-Up: You must visit the clinic for your first dressing and washing, which will be done professionally. Do not wash or touch the transplanted area by yourself initially.
- Sleeping Position: Sleep in a reclined or lie-back position for the first week. Avoid rubbing or scratching the transplanted area.
- Avoid Physical Strain: Refrain from sexual activity, intense exercise, swimming, sauna, steam rooms, or public baths for at least 4 weeks.
- Sun Exposure: Protect your scalp from direct sunlight for one month post-procedure.
Washing & Scalp Care
- First Wash: Your first wash will be done at the clinic. After that, you may start washing your hair from Day 3, or as advised by your doctor.
- Gentle Washing: Use lukewarm water only — avoid hot or cold water. Use the recommended shampoo and lotion only for the first 2 weeks.
- How to Wash:
1. Do not rub the transplanted area.
2. Mix the shampoo with water and gently pour it over the scalp.
3. Let the shampoo soak in, then rinse gently. - Rubbing should not e made in area while hair is churned in transplanted area, hair should be rinsed after shampoo is slighty churned.
- Drying Method: Avoid towel rubbing. You may gently pat dry with a soft towel or use a hair dryer on a warm setting from a distance.
- Avoid Hair Products: Do not use any gels, sprays, or styling products unless specifically recommended by your doctor.
